Jefferson Memorial Forest Great American Camp Out. 11311 Mitchell Hill Road, Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25. Campfires, story-telling and night hikes. Louisville Free Public Library Summer Reading Program: The Return of he Super-Readers. Starts June 1 through Aug. 12. Pre-school children through 12th grade students can participate and must read 10 books (pre-readers through fifth grade) or six books (sixth grade through 12th grade). Children’s Summer Reading: every school-age child, kindergarten through fifth grade will receive an official Super Reader backpack and passes to local attractions. Preschool Summer Reading: pre-readers and their caregivers will receive an Super Reader backpack, a cape and passes to area attractions. Teen Summer Reading: open to sixth through 12th-graders, encourages teens to read six books. They will receive a an aluminum water bottle and passes to local attractions and U of L games.
