Connecticut State Police have issued an arrest warrant for Massachusetts stabbing spree suspect Jared Ravizza, the police department confirmed to MassLive on Tuesday.
State police did not immediately say what the arrest warrant was for or when it was issued, but the department previously confirmed that Ravizza was a suspect in the murder of 70-year-old Bruce Feldman, who was killed at a home in Deep River just hours before the stabbing spree on May 25. The Martha’s Vineyard Gazette reported Monday that the arrest warrant was on charges of murder, criminal mischief and two counts of animal cruelty.

Ravizza, a 26-year-old Martha’s Vineyard resident, was Feldman’s short-term roommate, and they were seen relaxing outside together with their poodles the day he was killed, according to Boston.com. A short time later, a neighbor called police to report that Ravizza had thrown a shovel through their front door window pane.
Officers soon discovered a “grisly” scene at Feldman’s home that disturbed first responders, Boston.com reported. Feldman — an inventor from West Hartford — was found dead outside the home, and the dogs were also found dead, but it is unclear how they were killed.

Ravizza and Feldman knew each other “long before” Feldman was killed, according to reporting by The Martha’s Vineyard Times. While staying on Martha’s Vineyard on Christmas Day last year, Feldman called 911 to report that Ravizza was on drugs in what appeared to be a nonsensical rant.
That day, Ravizza’s father, Jason Ravizza, told police that Feldman and his son “have had issues” in the past, and that Feldman “has been found staying at their house when they are not home and when he is not welcome,” The Martha’s Vineyard Times reported.

Ravizza is in the midst of court proceedings in Massachusetts, as he is accused of stabbing four girls at AMC’s Braintree location and two employees at a Plymouth McDonald’s the night of May 25. He was arrested later that evening on Cape Cod after he crashed the vehicle he was driving.
All six victims survived the apparently random and unprovoked attacks, which happened about an hour apart, authorities said previously. Ravizza is facing one count of armed assault with intent to murder, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and one count of indecent exposure out of Plymouth District Court and four counts each of armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon out of Quincy District Court in connection with the stabbings.

Ravizza would have to be extradited to Connecticut to be charged there, so given his active cases in Massachusetts, it is unclear when that would happen, Connecticut State Police told MassLive. Their investigation into Feldman’s death is active and ongoing.
Ravizza has been detained at Bridgewater State Hospital since May 28 when a Plymouth District Court judge ordered him held while mental health professionals determine whether he is competent enough to stand trial. On Monday, a Plymouth District Court judge again ordered that Ravizza’s mental health evaluation be extended and that he be held at Bridgewater State Hospital while this continues, court records show.
