I am not a fan of the late games even though I am a night owl. I remember the Snyder days and how much importance he placed on not drawing outside the lines. How important it was to keep game day routine as consistent as possible. Playing a road game super late at altitude is 3 strikes against us. I am confident Bill Snyder would agree and I will gladly stand with Bill and against the majority who does not include one of the greatest coaches in college football history. I would rather have a W then exposure to the entire nation in the middle of the night. If they want to watch Avery, they can record the game and watch it during their normal viewing hours, which is what the eastern and central time zones will probably do anyway.

If you want to be the best, you gotta beat the best. Anytime, anywhere. Improvise, adapt, and overcome. I get that changes in routine can have an impact on players, specifically how they prepare and perform in the moment. I don't deny that. It comes down to our young men simply need to learn to rise up in the occasion and get the job done. Expect to win.

KState and their fans cannot be scared of the lights on late night games. It won't be a bad thing to get some west coast eyeballs on our favorite program. There are a lot of recruits out there as well as portal guys looking for a bigger, better program to go to. And if our guys cannot get fired up about playing Coach Prime, then something is wrong. Edwards will be raring to go, and that will help AJ get ready.

I am not always comfortable with KState's performance coming out of bye weeks, but this is going to be a big one. Colorado is no chump team. Two of the best players in the country are in Boulder, and a great opportunity for the Cats to shine with all those people watching.

Colorado might have two pretty good dudes on their team. But last time I checked, football is an 11-man per side sport. This battle is going to be won in the trenches, even though there may be some big plays. I like our big uglies up front on offense & defense to knock the snot out of the Buffaloes for sixty minutes on the clock. Cats will win in the end, I predict.

I agree with a previous poster, worried about being ready to play, we have shown a propensity to be lethargic after bye weeks.

yep. this is setting up poorly for k-state. klieman's teams have been awful coming off byes. cu is red hot after blowing out ucf in orlando, surprising everyone. the game's at elevation. the game is after dark, way after for our boys.

so will avery and teammates ball up or ball out? i'm not sure. it makes this one intriguing to put it mildly. plus, the return of dylan edwards contributes special attention for both teammates and fans.

Going to CU to welcome them back to the conference, Coach Prime, their circus of celebrities, etc ... if we are lethargic, I might boycott this team for the remainder of the year. That would be tragic. Klieman needs to bring in some old blood to speak to these guys on bye weeks instead of the same people they always hear from, imo. Guys that built the foundation. Quentin Neujhar, Carl Straw, Paul Watson, Eric Gallon, Dirk Ochs, Barrett Brooks, Brooks Barta, Frank Hernandez, Michael Bishop, Ryan Young, etc... Others I was thinking of are coaching or otherwise occupied like... BV, Wolford, Houston, Ekeler, Michael Smith. These newbies to the program would benefit and maybe be re-charged hearing from these former gladiators that sacrificed a lot when this program and facilities weren't where they are now.

This is one area where I think HCCK has it wrong, when he tells the team that what we do one week doesn't impact us the following week (or something to that effect). I get where he's coming from in general, but the fact is, what you do from one week absolutely impacts you the next week. It goes against the "get a little bit better each week" mantra from LHCBS. I get the whole "have a short memory after a bad play or day" so it doesn't snowball on you. We need to learn from the BYU experience and make sure there is no repeat of it, because CU is far more dangerous offensively than BYU was/is. Additionally, there is a part of me that wants to blow up this post-bye week lackadaisical trend and almost embarrass the coaching staff to the point that it pisses people off. Historically, it's been a real problem for this coaching staff. The staff needs to acknowledge the trend, not try to sweep it under the rug or dismiss it. If they are getting sick of hearing about it, then GOOD.

I don't want to hear coach-speak in a press conference or podcast with softball questions from Wyatt. Acknowledge the trend, work your asses off to fix it, play better coming off a bye, and do everything possible to win the football game. Do that successfully two times in a row, and the narrative in the fanbase will change.

I'll say this, it's enough of a real thing that me and some buddies that bet on football games bet around KSU coming out of bye weeks now. And we don't bet in favor of KSU.

We could be WVU, UCF or Cincy having to travel or watch the game in Mountain Time.
