Adult Swim's Uzumaki miniseries was actually supposed to premiere in 2020, but it's been consistently delayed in order to guarantee that it doesn't let down audiences or sacrifice any quality. It looks like Uzumaki will finally premiere in 2024 and immediately become a standout horror anime. The anime's visuals look like Ito's manga brought to life, while Colin Stetson's moody score heightens the unnerving atmosphere.

Metallic Rouge examines the complicated relationship between humans and androids. Androids known as Neans begin to revolt and rise up against the government, which leads to Rouge Redstar -- a fellow Nean -- and a human companion to exterminate the Immortal Nine. Metallic Rouge has all the ingredients to be a modern mecha classic, especially with the pedigree and experience that Studio Bones brings to the table.

Metallic Rouge tells a dystopian action and sci-fi story, but it also features two strong, confident female protagonists, which is unfortunately all-too rare in the genre. Metallic Rouge looks like it will be 2024's most exciting anime because of its distinct world-building, chaotic action sequences, and an engrossing mystery. However, Rouge Redstar and Naomi Orthmann also have the potential to be the year's strongest heroic duo.
